Let me be your guide to Oahu’s Caffeine Highway. It is as easy as one, two, three. Here are the top 3 coffee shops on Oahu…

Mai Tai Drinker, or Not?
Some people can drink and some people, well, can’t. My husband (beloved Spaceman) hopelessly falls into the latter category. He swears he is better at handling a drink (as in one drink because more than one is risky…for everyone!) when he has had food. Um, really? I’d like to present exhibit A: my birthday celebration at the Mai Tai Bar at The Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki, Hawaii, and let you decide: Mai Tai drinker, or not?
It’s a Wrap!
Quinoa Chips, Really?
Coming off of a long holiday weekend celebrating the freedoms we enjoy in this great country of America, my chest is still a little puffed up with pride to call myself an American (the extra serving(s) of deviled eggs may have helped the puff). An unexpected occurrence of the weekend was my introduction to the quinoa chip. Quinoa chips, really?

The Road to Sedona Via Cottonwood, AZ
Alas, my week of celebrating wedded bliss via my anniversary is coming to a close…but not before discussing a great meal find on the road to Sedona via Cottonwood, Arizona. Hidden in a little house on the outskirts of Main Street Cottonwood lies Abbie’s Kitchen. We were clued in to this treasure as I sipped some award-winning wine at the Pillsbury Wine Company tasting bar.
Cheese, Glorious Cheese!
Today my first guest post is up over at Sweet Lavender Bake Shoppe. To say I am excited to be a part of this wonderful blog is an understatement. Christina is out on maternity leave at the moment so she is sharing some guest posts. Be sure to check in with her website to learn easy ways to make yummy (and healthy-ish) delights. Today it is all about cheese — yes, please!

Friends, Food, and a Little Flower Candy Company
This morning I got to share breakfast with one of my dearest friends as she passed close to my neighborhood on her way to an appointment. I was tasked (delightedly) with the job of suggesting a place to meet. As you may have noticed, I take food very seriously (there is only so much space in the stomach and filling it with just anything is not an ideal option). That’s when I remembered The Little Flower Candy Company on the border between Pasadena and Eagle Rock.
Parliament is in Session, Long Live Chocolate!
In a tiny little shop in downtown Redlands, CA, lies an unassuming chocolate shop, Parliament Chocolate. Yes, we all know that ice cream is my true love (after Spaceman, of course!), but I pride myself on being an explorer and would not shy away from this intriguing little shop with three wise owls as its mascot.
Nitrogen Ice Cream, Oh Yeah!
As I mentioned in my last post, I visited the Lincoln Memorial Shrine in Redlands, CA over the President’s holiday weekend. After rummaging through interesting artifacts and listening to historical accounts of the formation of this great country of ours, I needed…ice cream! As you all know by now, ice cream is a key component in my healthy lifestyle. It promotes strong bones (via calcium), fresh fruit (if I choose say, strawberry), and flavanols (if I choose say, mint chocolate chip). Thankfully we were clued in by locals to a la minute hand crafted ice cream.
